VALORIZATION CONFERENCE IN TRYAVNA

What does social entrepreneurship have to do with the english language?

Social entrepreneurs by heart and/or by profession, teachers of foreign languages, economics, information technologies and bilingual teachers, and innovators by vocation gathered on July 3^rd, 2017, at Kalina Palace Hotel in Tryavna on a Conference for the promotion SET2CLIL Project outputs (No 2015-1-BG01-KA202-014337), funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

5 training modules in Social Entrepreneurship, elaborated by an international team from 5 countries, 30 lesson plans provided along with videos, infographics, mind maps and an ePortfolio, as well as 30 examples of successful social enterprices in Europe were just part of the project outputs discussеd during the event. Additional discussions included topics such as the role and place of the social entrepreneur in our society and the innovative approach of social entrepreneurship training based on CLIL.

Policy makers in education, teachersand active social entrepreneurs debated on the essence of social entrepreneurship and CLIL (Content and language Integrated Learning) and the way the project actually brings them together.

Interactive group work sessions provided for direct contact and asessment of the materials elaborated and for discussions on their usability.

Mihail Cherkezov from Public Club "Furnata", Gabrovo, Natalia Parova from the Social Rehabilitation and Integration Center in Tryavna and Iliyana Doncheva from Tryavna Municipal Social Cuisine shared their personal experience as social entrepreneurs.

The Conference ended with a visit to the Old School Museum in Tryavna (one of the first secular schools in BG) where conference participants were met by a museum worker disguised as a famous renaissance literature character (a female teacher), who told them about the teaching methods in the school during the Rennaissance times and gave them little presents.
